Celebrate the 91st anniversary of the Blue Comet
In honor of the 91st anniversary of the inaugural run of the Blue Comet train, Liberty State Park will be celebrating Blue Comet Day at LSP's Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Guests can learn all about the trail of the famous Blue Comet and its route to Atlantic City. A children's program about trains will also be on the schedule. The Liberty State Park CRRNJ Terminal is located at 1 Audrey Zap Drive, Jersey City. Admission to the program is free.
Hoboken Museum has talk about women's suffrage
The Hoboken Museum is joining in the commemoration of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, passed in 1920, which granted women nationwide the right to vote. A lecture series will highlight the achievements of several famous New Jersey women with presentations by authors and historians.
Kicking off the series will be a talk on "Women's Suffrage, 1920: New Jersey Women Regain the Right to Vote," by Carmela A. Karnoutsos, historian and professor emerita of NJCU, on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m. General admission is $5, museum members and students get in for free. Karnoutsos' presentation will feature New Jersey women including Lucy Stone, Mary Philbrook, Alice Paul, and Caroline Stevens Wittpenn.
Last chance to see paintings based on women's march
Hoboken artist Andrea Kroenig's latest exhibition, "Star Spangled Spirit," will be closing on Thursday, Feb. 27. The exhibit, which began on Jan. 30, at Field Colony Loho Gallery, 33 Newark St., Hoboken, ran in conjunction with the 4th annual Women's March and the 100th anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment. The closing party for the exhibit will take place on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Kroenig's mixed media paintings came from a year-long process and focus on images portraying the human spirit of equality, justice, liberty in a style using both fine art and street art techniques. There will also be live music, T-shirt designs, arts prints, and wine.

From 11 a.m. to the early hours of the morning, attendees can get down to the likes of The Cure, David Bowie, New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, The Stone Roses, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Pixies, Duran Duran, The Human League, Nine Inch Nails, Love And Rockets, Soft Cell, Simple Minds, Blondie, Ministry, Flock Of Seagulls, Red Flag, Blur, and The Clash. Cult videos and films will also be screened in the background.
Headroom Bar & Social is located at 150 Bay St., Jersey City. Admission is $5 in advance or $8 at the door.
